Antenna Diagnostics
If there's a GPS/GSM connection fault that's been proved to not be software-related then there are a few hardware checks that can narrow down the root cause.
Diagnostics Flowchart:
Trial Antenna
Fitting another antenna can rule out the Tiger from being at fault.
It's recommended to use an antenna with QMA (Quick Mount, push/pull) connectors as the SMA (Screw Mount) connectors don't fit directly onto the Tiger.
This doesn't have to be installed permanently- installation in-cab (parcel shelf) will still produce the desired test results.
If the system starts to provide a connection with the trial antenna then we have ruled out the TigerMX at fault.
Extension Cable
Unwrap and shrinkwrap or tape covering the connectors and confirm the SMA connector is tight - not just finger tight.
Individually wrap each connector with tape and shrinkwrap.
Trial Extension Cable or Antenna
Depending on what is easier to get to.
If a trial extension cable resolves the issue then the antenna is at fault, vice versa.
What do the cable colours represent?
ORANGE / YELLOW = GPS (Glonass, GNSS) / Satellites
BLUE = Cellular / Modem / GSM / 3G, 4G / Data
GREEN = WIFI / Bluetooth
