Update System Firmware

Update System Firmware

Updating the firmware through Universe will not interfere with the usability of the system.

How do I know if I need to update?

In Universe, updates are controlled via the 'System' (TigerMX-5) rather than per the 'Installation' (vehicle) the system is installed on.
Navigate to 'Admin' -> 'Systems' to see a list of all the systems available.

We can use the search option to show only the systems that require an update.

Adjust 'Firmware Version' from 'any version' to less than the current stable release (v1.2.3-4 as of December 2019). If unsure please contact support@blackmoth.com

A list of available systems should now only show you the systems that need an update.
Note: Only a 'System' that has been assigned to an 'Installation' will be able to be updated. This is signified by the 'Installation' ID in brackets after the System serial number.
The orange label indicates that an update is available.

Requesting a Firmware Update

Click 'Edit this system'.

Click on 'Request this update' and then 'Confirm' and the update process will begin when the system is online next.

Once started Universe will keep track and update the status under 'Firmware Package Requests' until completion.
  >
You will receive an email notifying you when the update is complete.
The 'System' is not yet updated at this stage.
The system needs to be restarted in order for the update to take full affect.
Once the system is rebooted the system will be running the new firmware.
