Universe - Add New User
Who can add new users?
Only someone set up with a 'Manager' role can add new users to their resource group.
This information can be found on your Account Settings option in the menu bar.
Admin - New User
From the Menu click on 'Admin' to expand your options then select 'Users' to open a new page.
On this page click on the 'Create a new user' button and the 'Add New User' section will be expanded.
Fill in the required fields. See below for details of each field.
Click 'Save Changes' and an email will be sent to the defined email address with next actions to log into Universe.
Congratulations, you're done - you've now created a new user.
New User Field Definitions
Name:
First Name and Last Name
Email:
The email address that will be used to log in. An invitation to Universe will also be sent to this address.
Role:
'User' can only see the systems under their assigned resource group.
'Manager' can see all that user can as well as create new users.
Resource Group:
Think of this as a depot, or site, or department. A user can only see what's inside that resource group and below, but not above.
In the example below a user added to 'Demo' cannot see what's in 'Sales', but a user in 'Sales' can see what's in 'Sales' and in 'Demo'.
Labels:
Not mandatory. Any 'Label' can be searched for. ie if you have multiple users with 'test' as a label, you can search 'test' and those users will be found.
User Status:
Unticking this is the current way to "remove" a user in Universe.
