How to Retrieve Video through Universe

Black Moth Universe - Video Retrieval

Our systems retain video data in the future event where a video retrieval would be required, this video data can be requested through Universe.
All that's required to begin the process is the vehicle name, and a location or time.

Find Location or Time

Video retrievals are limited to a maximum of 15minutes, to make the best use of this you need to narrow down the timeframe of the video.

Location

Simply find the location on the map where you'd like to get video from, click on the route, and choose the duration of the video.
Either use the drop-down box to select a set time, or click again on the route to selection the period between the 2 points. You can then use the Timebar (described below) to refine the selection.

Use this option to really narrow down a specific time.
Use the options underneath the bar to quickly find a date and then drag the green endpoints of the bar to adjust the timeframe. Use the Zoom icons on either side to help zoom in on the time bar.

You can use the 'Custom' option which allows you to select a date.
eg. Searching for Monday 14th is done by selecting 2 dates - 13th and 14th. This translates as midnight on 13th to midnight 14th.

Video Retrieval

Video Retrieval Button

On the sidebar under 'Selected Time Range' is the green 'Video Retrieval Button' button that begins the video retrieval process. Clicking it will pop up a window.

Here you can select which cameras you'd like to retrieve video from for the duration you just selected.
Select as many as you'd like and click 'Okay' to start the request.
You should get a confirmation message that your video request is now processing.

It's best to keep the Duration, Resolution, Quality, and Frame Rate as default - it's already the highest quality of our cameras.
944x800 is the highest resolution for any video footage retrieved.
Notes: Notes are a comment or description you'd like to add to log the video. It will show up later under the request should you need a reminder. It is also searchable.

Check Progress

There's 2 ways to view the video retrievals in Universe.

Track Tab

From Universe Track choose History from the side bar and without even selecting a time range you can view all video requests for that vehicle by clicking on the white 'Show all video retrievals" button.

Video Tab

Similar to the Track tab above you can choose the 'Video' tab, this opens a new page with all videos from that vehicle.

View Retrieved Videos

Once the 'Status' of a request is 'Completed' the video can be viewed in Universe by clicking the green 'Play' Button. This will take you to the Play Back page.

Download Retrieved Videos

We currently do not allow the option to share the video from Universe.
If you'd like to download the videos for external use the green 'Download' icon.

Video Play Back

If you clicked the green 'Play' icon you'll now be viewing the Play Back page which, in one page, shows you all video requests at once as well as displaying the route on a map that updates with the video.
