Overtime SSDs can become subject to wear and tear preventing data from being stored. It can be replaced without sending the TigerMX back.
The SSD is found on the underside of the TigerMX, so it must be removed to expose the SSD. d
Removing the TigerMX
Power off the vehicle.
Please turn off the vehicle.
This includes turning off the Ignition and also engaging the isolator if the vehicle has one.
Remove Cables
All cables
except for 'ISO' and 'BATT' can now be removed from the TigerMX.
To remove the connector simply pull straight back on the 'block of chocolate' patterned grip.
With everything removed you can now disconnect the '
ISO' cable.
Give it a 10 seconds then remove the '
BATT' cable.
Remove from Bracket
With no cables the TigerMX can now freely be removed from the bracket.
This will require a screwdriver, but which kind depends on the install.
Take note of the placement and screw locations for when you install it back onto the bracket.
Removing the SSD
Remove Screws
Remove all the screws and keep them close by.
Slide out
Slide the SSD mount in the only way it will go all the way to the other side.
Lift to remove.
Replacing the SSD
Slide in
Slide the SSD and mount back into the TigerMX in the same was it was taken out, it will only fit one way.
Screw In
Screw down all the screws that were removed.
Ensure they are only hand tight.
Installing the TigerMX
Ensure you line up the TigerMX with the way it was originally installed.
You made need a second pair of hands here depending on the placement of the TigerMX.
Return Faulty SSD

FAQ
SSD didn't come with a mount, how do I install it?
If the SSD does not come pre-installed with a mount you will have to use the current installed one.
Remove the screws and ensure the SSD is fitted in the same orientation as the original, ignore the branding as a reference.
It will be slightly offset with the contacts facing away from the mount.
Do I need to use the rubber washes?
If you've had to use the existing SSD mount, then yes, that mount is an older style and they help to reduce vibration.
One of the screws no longer fits?
This is okay, leave it out, don't try to force it. 1 screw short won't hurt the security of the SSD.
