TigerMX-5 - How to Reboot / Shutdown / Hard Power Cycle

Disconnecting the power cables from the TigerMX-5 while in operation may cause component damage and unexpected behaviour.
We recommend that this process is performed before disconnecting any cables from the TigerMX-5.
The option to manually and safely shutdown the system is made available through the Black Moth Monitor Settings.
Note: This guide shows how to Reboot, how to Shutdown, and how to Hard Power Cycle the TigerMX-5 as separate steps.

How to Reboot the TigerMX-5

To access the Black Moth Monitor Settings press the 'Settings' icon located in the top right.

This will pop-up a window with a keypad asking for a PIN code.
The PIN code is '2012' , press 'OK'.

Now press 'Advanced Settings'.

The very bottom left option is the power options menu (you may have to press and scroll to see it), press on 'Power'.
Press 'REBOOT' to begin the shutdown process.

The screen may appear frozen, but it will shortly power turn off along with the TigerMX-5.
If the Ignition/Isolator is ON the system will begin to reboot in 30 seconds.

How to Shutdown the TigerMX-5

Follow the above steps for 'How to Reboot' but STOP before you press 'REBOOT'.
Find where the TigerMX-5 is installed on the Vehicle and identify the 'ISO' power connector (see below).

Now press 'REBOOT' and proceed to manually disconnect the 'ISO' connector (and only the 'ISO' connector).
After pressing 'REBOOT' there's about 30 seconds before the TigerMX-5 will begin to reboot if 'ISO' is still connected.

With the 'ISO' connector disconnected the TigerMX-5 will not receive the signal to turn on.
'ISO' also controls power to the monitors, this is why we can't disconnect it beforehand.
Allow 10 seconds and then disconnect the 'BATT' connector.

The TigerMX-5 has now been completely removed from power.

Reconnecting Power

Firstly connect the 'BATT' connector, and then connect the 'ISO' connector.

With both connectors reconnected and the Ignition/isolator on, the system will now boot back up.

How to Hard Power Cycle the TigerMX-5

This is exactly the same at 'How to Shutdown the TigerMX-5' but leaving the power disconnected for a longer duration.
We recommend 30 minutes as a minimum, but if possible the longer the better. Overnight is preferred.
